A short history of Pallikkoodam
“എന്മകനേതു വിദേശത്തു വാഴ്കിലും
നിന്നുള്ളിലെപ്പോഴുമൊർമ്മ വേണം
മറ്റുള്ള ഭാഷകൾ കേവലം ധാത്രിമാർ
മർത്ത്യനു പെറ്റമ്മ തൻ ഭാഷ താൻ.“

Kerala is known as God's own country and Germany as the land of thinkers and poets. Pallikkoodam is all about the new generation of Keralites born and brought up in Munich whose parents thought it is significantly important that their children can read and write in the Malayalam language. Subsequently some of them initiated Pallikkoodam with the intention of teaching their mother tongue to their children. Thus the children can start to understand the roots and culture of their parents.

On 17th October 2010 Pallikkoodam was inaugurated with two teachers and 6 children with classes every alternative weekends. Through the tireless efforts of many parents ever since Pallikkoodam has managed to grow and complete 7 years of successful academic life. Meanwhile Pallikoodam has 10 regular teachers and 58 regular students in three different divisions. Pallikkoodam is a registered member of Malayalam Mission and follows the syllabus of the same. The basics of the language and culure of Kerala are taught through elements of art, music and literature. There are a number of cultural and recreational activities throughout the year organised by the Pallikoodam family.
